At PAL, our mission goes far beyond summer fun. We’re here to build lasting connections between cops, kids, and the community, just like our National PAL roots intended. And this summer, we hit the ground running with unforgettable experiences that brought law enforcement and youth together in the most inspiring ways.
We kicked things off with an exciting trip to visit the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office flight team, where our PAL kids got an up-close look at helicopters in action. One of the highlights? Meeting K9 Zorro, a fan favorite with both the kids and staff. It was a thrilling start to the season and gave our youth a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to serve and protect from the skies and on the ground.
But the fun didn’t stop there.
During our second week of camp, we were honored to host a visit from the St. Petersburg Police Department. Officers rolled in with some seriously cool gear, including their robot dog Spot, which quickly became the star of the day. Several lucky PAL kids even got the chance to control the robot, learning how technology and public safety go hand in hand.
These moments are more than just exciting field trips; they’re bridges. When youth see officers as mentors, role models, and neighbors, it fosters trust, breaks down barriers, and builds a stronger, safer community for us all.
We’re just getting started this summer, and we can’t wait to keep living out the PAL mission together.
